About

This isn’t a traditional blog; I’m not seeking any audience out there.  Rather, this is my online journal, archive, or scrapbook — my place to preserve, develop, and act on ideas.

I love to link to great ideas from the great thinkers out there, and save them here for future reference.

I have to keep things short and to the point, because of limited time and energy. I toil in a corner of the corporate world, specifically, the legal profession.  I’m planning my jailbreak from the Matrix, with this blog as one of my tools.

  1. Now that you’ve got a couple of my posts I thought I would chime in.

After reading your About page, it reminded me of what I did before I initially left the corporate world (Go West & Do Something With Horses post). This was 1995-1996 (before blogging). I was a city girl (New Orleans, Boston & NYC) who didn’t appreciate the outdoors. My younger brother spent a college summer in Telluride, CO and was a bit more into the outdoors and introduced me to Outside magazine (back when it was good).

I started reading it and, not knowing why, felt compelled to cut out quotes and pictures that basically all said, “There’s more to life than this. Go find it!” After doing this long enough, the internal pressure finally built up enough for me to leave with no real plan.

I still have that folder of clippings. It’s one of my personal treasures because my life wouldn’t be what it is without those initial messages. With what you’ve said above, it sounds like this blog is your folder. It appears that you’ve been working on this for a while.

What’s your plan? What’s your drop dead date? When is enough enough?

  2. Hi,
I am also planning my escape from the Matrix lol! Thanks for your piece on anxious-avoidants…very helpful! Would love to hear more about what you have been doing to work on healing your attachment issues 🙂
